Chapter 4 “Free tour and informational guides of New York,” a man yelled. “Can I have one please?” I ask. He gives me one. “Thank’s.” I tell him. I open it up and I see an arrow that says ‘’you are here’’, pointing at Manhattan. There is a building called empire state. It has one hundred and two floors! But visitors can only go until the eighty-sixth floor. For one person to go until the eighty-sixth floor is eighty dollars ! Wow that’s a lot. According to the guide I have to take a bus to get to the building. I really want to go but I’m never going to just get eighty dollars. Let me see if I have anything I could sell in my bag for thirty dollars or more. Blanket, my clothes, water bottles, a picture of New York. The only thing that would give me enough is the picture. “Picture of New York. Twenty dollars or less, “ I say. “Twenty dollars for that priceless picture? Can I buy it for fifty dollars.?’’a man asks. ‘’Sure.’’ I tell him. He gives me the cash and I give him the picture. Thirty dollars to go. I dig around in my bag and find a silver necklace. The pendant is a seashell. I remember this necklace when it was arts and crafts day in the orphanage. I made two of these necklaces as friendship bracelets for me and Polly. I would never sell this. I dig in my bag again and find an old watch that I think still works. “A watch for twenty-three dollars.”I say. Some people walk pass by, while others stare and walk by. “I think twenty- three dollars is a little too expensive for a watch can I buy it for ten dollars?” A woman asks. “Ok.’’ I say. I give her the watch and she gives me the money. Twenty dollars to go. I dig in my bag again. There’s nothing I could sell. I sigh and start walking again.
